Beginning Sunday, April 13th – Fun & Fellowship Meetings
All teens are invited to join us for community building games, board games and if you have a GAME SYSTEM – we invite you to bring that to the meeting with your favorite game.
We will finish off the balance of our Sunday TAG meetings with nothing but Fun & Fellowship meetings. Hope you will join us!

May 18th
1:30 to 4:00pm
In the ACTIVITIES BUILDING
Topic: Extreme Game
Two participants challenge each other strapped into an upper-body harness. Attached to an elastic bungee-type cord, they try to place a marker as far away from the center of the attraction as possible. Furthest from the mark wins, but it requires strength and perseverance. Challenging BUT FUN for all!
Two teens compete against each other, tethered to a bungee cord ~ who can go the furthest?

June 1st
1:30 to 4:00pm
Meet In the Parish Center Upper Level
Dairy Queen Walk
The group was asked if they wanted to do this again this year and the consensus was ‘Of course we do!’
So, weather providing, please come prepared to walk to Dairy Queen with us. Bring cash for whatever you wish to purchase and we will end the year as is TAG’s tradition. We will congratulate our Seniors and have a nice end to this year’s Sunday meetings.
There are many ways you can be leaders, not just by joining the TLC group (which I hope some of you WILL), but also by being a teen on one of the COMMISSIONS or on our PARISH COUNCIL. You are the voice of young people and if you are not part of these groups who will speak for you? Who will try to communicate to the adults of this parish what YOUR NEEDS, DESIRES and WANTS are? Confirmation calls each of us to be active members in the church. That doesn’t mean just coming to mass, saying the prayers, singing, receiving the Holy Eucharist and then going home. Imagine yourself being a LECTOR, EUCHARISTIC MINISTER, GREETER, CHOIR MEMBER, USHER, a member of the TAG group, even being one of our TLC people. Take that image and do something with it! If you’re not sure where to start, make a phone call to Rae Stumpf at 651-1359. Find out how and where to use the gifts God is counting on you to use! ANSWER YOUR CONFIRMATION CALL!
All teens that are high schoolers are invited. Here at TAG we have an ‘open door’ policy. That means you do NOT have to be a parish member or of the Catholic religion to participate in any of the events we have.
There’s no registration like in Religious Education – Of course, there will be times where permission slips and other forms are necessary. I DO APPRECIATE you paying attention to deadline dates! But for all Sunday meetings you just show up, have a good time and come when and as often as you can!!!
I will admit, there are drawbacks to not coming to events or meetings at least once a month or more. I have heard from teens that when they just attend certain things each year, say they want to come to Rainbow and the Lock-in and nothing else, they feel a significant disconnect with the group. That feeling of disconnect has made them want to NOT participate. Whether it’s a result of embarasment or not being sure if they will have any friends at the meeting, this definitely works against community. For that reason I strongly suggest giving every effort you can to participating in something at least once a month or more.
That being said, it has a lot to do with the teen. There are also teens who show up just during certain seasons (due to sports) and they are VERY comfortable with that. But when they do show up, again, they come to many things a month and are able to make and keep friendships going.
Christianity, and youth group, is about relationships. Having a place where one is accepted for who they are and having them feel comfortable, important, wanted and needed is something TAG strives to accomplish. But it works BOTH WAYS! Even if you are an introvert (which I was at your age, so I understand how hard it is) there is a certain amount of understanding you as a teen must be responsible for. Understanding yourself and trying to challenge yourself in groups where you may not know many or any people is difficult, but you can meet that task! You do each day you wake up and go to school or work.
