There are a number of components to a vital, holistic youth ministry program. They include: advocacy, catechesis, community life, evangelization, justice and service, leadership development, pastoral care, prayer and worship. Our programming touches each of these components at one point or another.
Programs
YOU HAVE A VALUABLE PIECE TO ADD!
Sunday night meetings
We have meetings almost every Sunday evening, during the school year, excluding major holidays. We meet in the parish center (upstairs) from 1:45pm to 4:00pm. Our topics are everything from faith enrichment to life skills to coping with personal issues and everything in between. We always tie an issue to the foundations of our Catholic Christian identity.
Service opportunities
We have a number of choices for every teen to live out their call to be Christ to those in need. We have service meetings once a month during our Sunday TAG meetings and we have a variety of service events held on various Saturdays during the school year. Please continue to watch the TAG webpage, the bulletin and the bulletin boards in church for specific event information.
Prayer & worship
We are looking for teens who enjoy singing and playing instruments. We would like to start a Teen Choir. Would you be interested?

Leadership involvement
We (as a church) need leaders. Everyone has leadership potential! Can you be on a commission, on parish council, a lector, Eucharistic minister, a leader of the TAG group...the posspossibilities are endless! Let’s talk….
Where do YOU fit in?
Meet the Youth Minister
Hi, my name is Rae Stumpf and I am the Coordinator of Youth Ministry here at St. Andrew. I have ministered to high school youth for 16 years and spent 11 of those years here. I am a certified Youth Minister in our diocese and am continuing my education at U of M ~ Flint in their Human and Social Services Department.
I am a strong believer in youth. I am constantly amazed at their desire to deepen their spirituality, express their genuine love for others and desire to better our world and build God's Kingdom by reaching out to those in need. I feel honored and privileged to serve them and this community.
That being said, Youth Ministry is NOT JUST about my serving the needs of our high school teenagers. It is also about families and parents. One of the reasons I have the "Parent Corner" page on this website is for that very reason. I am here just as much for you as for your teens. I am a parent myself. I have a 24 year old son, whom I am extremely proud of. But parenting is lifelong and it can be hard at times. That's why I feel strongly about letting you know I'm not here just to teach or entertain your teenagers. I'm here to support you as parents and do whatever I can to make your life easier too. My door is open to you as well and your teenager's.
Let the Spirit move us all!
humbly yours,
Rae

Welcome Mrs. Kathleen Fabian ...
Mrs. Fabian will be the youth minister who coordinates the service projects, retreat and youth conference experiences, helps with all the fun activities and coordinates the fundraisers. She has a lot of ‘life experience’ that she brings to the table, having raised 12 children, many of whom were members of our TAG group. She has already been an asset to our program, having helped out in many different capacities for close to three years. Her spirit is inspiring and when she shares her Catholic faith with the teens, they listen. I am so pleased to be sharing this ministry with her, AND with all the other adults who help! (I hope to have a picture of all our young adults and young at heart adults posted soon)
