What is Evangelization?

Evangelization is simply sharing the Good News and reality of Jesus with others. (especially to those who have never heard it). The best way to do this is to just tell others how your faith in Jesus has helped you in your life.

Jesus himself told the Apostles the following just before he ascended into Heaven “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”(Mt 28:19-20) These were his last words. This demands a response from us as well.

Anyone who considers themselves a follower of Jesus’ teachings may also be called a Disciple (one who learns). We are called to be life-long learners of our Lord Jesus. Through the blessings of the Holy Spirit, the goal for all disciples should be to obtain a personal relationship with Jesus who has referred to us as brothers, sisters and a friend.

Ultimately, our Lord will call upon us to become an Apostle (one who is sent) to proclaim His Good News (evangelize). Are you ready to share your story, your faith with others?

“As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” (John 20:21)

St. Andrew Evangelization Committee

Pope John Paul II said that it is our supreme duty to evangelize! Embracing this message, St. Andrew Catholic Church established the Evangelization Committee in the fall of 2015. The committee was formed with the purpose to ensure that evangelization become the most important thing we do as Church. Thus, everything that we do must be done through the filter of evangelization. Proclaiming the Good News is our moral duty.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of every month from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
